Impetus Award

Mrs Ann Nelson from the Association for Citizenship Teaching and representing the Institute for Global Ethics, presented the Head Boy and Head Girl with the Impetus Award for their work to promote human rights. The school council had led a project using the 1Goal campaign for Global Education for All linked to the World Cup celebrations in South Africa. Mrs Nelson was most impressed with the children's work in Citizenship.

Achievements in Merit Assembly
Well done to the following children who received awards today.
Year R: Lilia Copeland for being a helpful member of the class.
Year 1: Josh Marshall for excellent Numeracy work.
Year 2: All of Year 2 for a prayerful liturgy.
Year 3: Rio Maggs for excellent effort with her homework.
Year 4: Luke Gilmore for fantastic effort with his World Cup project.
Year 5: Faye de Luen for working hard in Art.
Year 6: Callum Elliot for being an excellent Ugly sisiter in the Year 6 panto.

EMTAS Celebration Day

Bernadette and Sabrina Smith were invited to a celebration ceremony at Dryden Teachers' Centre by the Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service. They were presented with certificates by the Mayor of Gateshead. The girls had made a dvd of Bernadete's First Holy Communion with Digital Voice Media Productions. They also received certificates from the Royal Television Society for their film.

Dress Rehearsal for 'Cinderella and Rockafella'
Year 6 performed the panto, 'Cinderella and Rockafella' today for the whole school. Year 6 were absolutely fantastic; the teachers were in stitches and the children applauded to the rafters!
The evening performance of the panto is on Monday 19th July at 6 pm.

Joseph and his Amazing Technicoloured Dream Coat!!

Drama Club treated the school to a performance of 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat.' The singing was beautiful and the show was a huge success.
Well done to Drama Club and Miss Hudson who led the talented actors, singers and dancers.
