CAFOD Fast Day 2009
This Harvest Fast Day we are supporting CAFOD's work in Brazil. Children are asked to give up a favourite sweet and to donate the money to support CAFOD. The donations will be offered in our liturgy on Friday 2nd October at 2.40 pm. Children have been learning about the work of CAFOD in Citizenship lessons.

The Feast of the Epiphany
Today we are celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany when the Three Kings visited Baby Jesus.
" When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. They saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him.Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh." (Mat 2:10-11).

Travelling Cribs
During Advent children will have the opportunity to take home a crib and share it with their family.
These Year 6 children took a crib home at the weekend. They sat around the crib with their families, lit a candle, read the Nativity Story and said a prayer.

Poppy Appeal in School
We are finding out about the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in our Citizenship lessons this week. We are selling poppies in school to support their work. In St Alban's Prayer Room we can make tissue poppies and add them to our Poppy Man whilst saying a prayer of remembrance.

St. Alban's Day
To celebrate St. Alban's Day, the whole school enjoyed a visit from Mr. Twister. Some of us dressed up in different costumes and others were even given balloons as prizes. Everyone had lots of fun!
At the end of the afternoon, we all gathered together in prayer.

Ash Wednesday 6th February 2008
We have started out Lenten journey today. In our liturgy this afternoon we looked again at our 'Livesimply' promises and we made a commitment to continue to keep these promises during Lent. Our purple lapel ribbons will help us to remember. The children have taken home a CAFOD Livesimply Lenten calendar to help them to prepare for Easter.
