Today, the whole school wore blue to make a visible commitment that we are not prepared to tolerate bullying.
In our Pastoral groups, we wrote prayerto ask God to keep us safe and happy.

Switch Off Fortnight

Our school is taking part in Switch Off Fortnight. In our Citizenship lessons we are learning that wasting energy is very bad for the environment. We are all making an effort to switch off lights that are not needed.

Today, the Community Support Officer came into school to talk about firework safety.
Year 6 were reminded of lots of safety advice.
"You must always wear gloves when using sparklers." Joseph Bainbridge.

Comenius Celebration Day

Today St. Alban's celebrated the huge success of our Comenius project.
Each class had worked on a traditional tale from one of the Comenius countries and presented their work to an audience of parents. We all enjoyed snacks from each country after our performances and had a delicious European lunch. What a day!

Gateshead in Bloom Competition

This term in Art, every class in school painted flowers relating to the month they were born. Several children from each class were entered in the Gateshead in Bloom Art competititon. Well, the results are in! The above children were awarded special prizes for their fantastic flower paintings. Well done.

Dog Warden visits Key Stage 1

Year 1 and 2 were visited by Mr. Skinner from The Dog Control Service. The children found out how to behave responsibly with dogs and really enjoyed completing activities in their Dog Control booklets.
