Our Nursery and Reception classes performed their Christmas Nativity today and were spectacular. Not a dry eye in the house!

Nursery have been learning about the weather. We had fun finding out how many children we could fit under 1 umbrella.

In Nursery the children have been learning about lots of different types of weather. We have talked very cold weather. Here we are exploring ice.

Today St. Alban's celebrated the huge success of our Comenius project.
Each class had worked on a traditional tale from one of the Comenius countries and presented their work to an audience of parents. We all enjoyed snacks from each country after our performances and had a delicious European lunch. What a day!

Nursery acted out their traditional tale on the Key Stage 1 stage.

Year 1 created an animation about their tale using a prgramme called I can Animate.

How to ride a donkey

Year 3 acted out their tradional tale.

Year 4 put on a puppet show and sang a song about the donkey.

The Legend of Colapesce

Year 5 presented a news report about the Sicilain traditional tale.

Year 6 studied Italian art on the Legend of Colapesce and recereated their own artwork. They also presented an animation.

Over the past six weeks children from Year 4 have been working on Easter crafts after school. Today they have all taken home their very own "pompom chick". They should be very proud of themselves. Well done!

Year Nursery, Year Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are all putting the finishing touches to their Nativity plays. We can hardly wait to see them!

Year Reception and Year 6 are working together on a liturgical dance for their liturgy on Wednesday 2:30pm in the school hall. You are all very welcome.

As part of our easter activities, children have brought decorated eggs into school. They are all absolutely amazing. Well done children.

We have been investigating different textures. We looked at a range of baby toys and discussed how they felt. We discovered lots of new words and sounds!

Our Nursery age children were very good at finding hard and soft things in our classroom.

Playing with our parachute is lots of fun! It halps us to develop our co-ordination, our spatial awareness and our teamwork skills.

Year R are visiting Bill Quay Farm on Tuesday 18th March.
Year 2 are visiting Whitehouse Farm on Tuesday 18th March.

It is lovely to be able to grow our own plants. We have planted some peas, so when they grow we can eat them for our tea!
We planted some sunflower seeds to go in our outside area. We hope they are going to grow very tall!

Our Reception age children enjoyed planting some primroses to make our outside area look cheerful.

We have been investigating tall and short items. We made towers taller and shorter than our toys.

In our Foundation Stage, we like to write and draw. Our Nursery age children have enjoyed drawing pictures linked to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Our yard and garden areas are an extension of our classroom and we carry out lots of activities there. As our current topic is 'Down On The Farm', we worked as a team to make farm pictures using natural materials.

To celebrate Chinese New Year, we made animal masks. We enjoyed colouring them in and developed our cutting skills.

What do you mean 'it's an improvement'?

Our Reception age children have been working for the last few weeks with Miss Forrest as part of the Young Enterprise scheme.We have enjoyed doing jobs in our special work books.

Miss Forrest presented us with certificates to show how hard we have worked. We are very proud of them!

We have had lovely visits to the Farm, the sun shone and the animals were friendly.

Peter showed us around and told us about how how we care for the animals. It was great fun feeding the different animals (although they had very rough tongues!)
